1) We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask us for things like our gender or income level for no apparent reason. We only ask you for certain information to better serve you, as it would be necessary for a specific request by you. Additionally, providing our business account holders with a demographic picture of our registered users (consumers in their area of business), allows these businesses to offer our users better discounts, events, and PerkStore items.
2) We don’t share personally-identifying information with anyone except to comply with the law, improve our service, or protect our rights. In any of these events, all information is held in the strictest confidence.
3) In our business accounts, we aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what’s available to our users (A.K.A. your customers), seen by search engines, and kept private.
4) In our registered user accounts, we don’t share anything about any individual’s activities or personal contact information. (For example: Your email address, your name, your address, your telephone number, the amount of money you’ve saved, the businesses in your favorites section, the amount of points you’ve accumulated, or the items that you have redeemed are all strictly private as far as we're concerned. That stuff is your business and only there for your reference or to better serve you.)
PrizeLeader® LLC, the owner of PerkChase.com. (“PerkChase”) operates a multilevel website, designed to enable consumers and businesses to interact while vigorously protecting the anonymity of our free users and guests (A.K.A. the business’ customers), and protecting the security of all of our registered user's Personally Identifying Information with an encrypted Secure Socket Layer Certificate provided by VeriSign® Inc. We like to call it a “Consumer and Business interface,” we like the way it sounds, but that’s really what it is. It is PerkChase’s policy and self-appointed duty to respect and guard your privacy concerning any information we may collect while operating our website.
Like most website operators, PerkChase collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. PerkChase’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how PerkChase’s visitors use its website. From time to time, PerkChase may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
PerkChase also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. PerkChase does not use such information to identify its visitors and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.
Certain visitors to PerkChase’s website choose to interact with PerkChase in ways that require PerkChase to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that PerkChase gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example:
1) We ask visitors who sign up for registered user accounts on PerkChase.com to provide a username, email address, and zip code. That is the minimum that is required for registered user accounts, however we do require that you provide your legal name, age and gender if you intend to use our free service for more than just discounts. Reasons for this include; (a) inviting friends (this is really for your friends comfort and recognition – they don’t know who we are, that’s why your telling them about us, well, and for the points of course), (b) petitioning businesses (we just tell them your gender, how old you are, and what zip code you’re registered in – we’d never tell them your legal name, and that’s the whole point of what we do for you – protect you from unwanted advances of ne'erdowell marketers that want to sell you false hope and pills that won’t make anything bigger, save for your credit card balance), (c) redeeming PerkStore items with all the points you rack up (this is really just so we can remain compliant with state and federal laws) from inviting friends and petitioning the businesses you use most.
2) Those who engage in transactions with PerkChase – by purchasing a business account to represent their business to our users and offer discounts, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary, the personal and financial information required to process those transactions.
In each case, PerkChase collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with PerkChase. PerkChase does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
PerkChase may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. For instance, PerkChase may monitor the most popular Ad Pages on the PerkChase.com site or PerkStore items posted, or Events posted to help identify abuse, and what’s working or not working. PerkChase may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, PerkChase does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
PerkChase discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on PerkChase’s behalf or to provide services available at PerkChase’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using PerkChase’s website, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. PerkChase will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, PerkChase discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when PerkChase believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of PerkChase, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of the PerkChase website and have supplied your email address, PerkChase may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with PerkChase and the businesses in your community. We primarily use our PerkChase account Ad Page to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. PerkChase takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
